THE BREWER BOYS BIO (for YAF – Sept 2009 Featured Artists of the Month)
The Brewer Boys are Justin, 15 and Nathan 12, born and raised in Temecula, California. They started singing and taking formal voice lessons at a very early age. They grew up listening and singing to country music and 3 years ago, formed their dynamic duo when Nathan discovered that he can sing harmony to every song that big brother Justin sings. They were regular performers at school shows and other community events.
The Brewer Boys sing a lot of country and although they want to pursue the modern country/pop genre, they also love to sing older classics like those by the Everly Brothers, Beatles, Crosby Stills & Nash, Johnny Cash, and even Journey. The year 2008 marked a milestone in their singing career when they visited Nashville, TN to audition for a national duo singing competition “Can You Duet.” They got through the third round and this opened great opportunities for them. In July 2008, they recorded their first professional demo CD of four original songs (they co-wrote one of the songs) at the historic Cash Cabin Studio in Hendersonville, TN with John Carter-Cash co-producing their music.
Since then, the boys have been featured in national and local publications including the
October 12, 2008 issue of Country Weekly Magazine and The Californian, North County Times. In November 2008, they were invited to sing the National Anthem at the Final Rodeo Championship at the Texas Stampede in Dallas, TX. This year, their involvement the beginning of the year at the Temecula Live show, an Opry-style country review show benefiting children with special needs, paved the way for their becoming regulars at the Country at The Merc, a full band live country show every Saturday nights. They are regulars at local coffeeshops, bookstores, and other community events. They performed at the Temecula Music Festival and the Murrieta Fun Fest and were also invited to sing for Nashville Spotlight at the Nashville Palace and Fuel during the recent CMA Fan Fest in Nashville, TN. They also took the stage at Live & Local Unplugged at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, NJ this summer.
If they are not busy singing or writing their own music, Justin likes to race his mountain bike. He just recently got involved in his school’s football team. Nathan continues to play tennis and video games.
The Brewer Boys' goal right now is to finish their CD and to be able to reach more people and touch their lives through their music. They would like to be able to help out less fortunate children experience a better way of living and to give them hope.
