MOTP BIO FOR YAF: MAY 2010 Featured Artists of the Month
The band MOTP, from Hicksville, Long Island New York, is the featured Artist For May 2010. They are a pop rock band and have written many of their own songs. Meet the gang. I am proud to have MOTP as the Featured Artists for Youth Arts Forum May 2010
Brian D’Addario, Vocals & Guitar

Brian, lead singer and songwriter for MOTP, just turned 13 and is in seventh grade. He has been playing guitar and composing songs since he was seven years old. Brian’s first musical influence came from The Beatles, but he gradually became obsessed with other iconic rock bands, such as The Who, Jimi Hendrix, and The Beach Boys. His current passions include My Chemical Romance, Muse, The Killers, Green Day, and Taking Back Sunday. Brian is a naturally gifted musician who is able to play multiple instruments by ear. His powerful voice has been featured in two Broadway musicals, The Little Mermaid and Les Miserables. He can also be seen in the documentary film, Woodstock: Now and Then. Brian studies classical guitar in NYC with Yasha Kofman and participates in the Hicksville Middle School chamber orchestra on double bass, and the Jazz Band on guitar. He is a huge fan of professional wrestling, Demetri Martin, and Family Guy.
Michael D’Addario, Vocals & Drums
Michael can be heard on high harmonies and some lead vocals. Currently 11 years old and a fifth-grader, he started playing drums at age four and was also heavily influenced by The Beatles. However, it was his introduction to Keith Moon of The Who that continues to inspire and inform his drumming. Michael recently wrote his first song for the band, which can be heard on myspace along with other original material. Like his brother Brian, he has an active career as an actor, having appeared on Broadway, in the miniseries “John Adams” and in the film, “Woodstock Now and Then.” Michael is also a talented artist, and enjoys creating original cartoon characters. He is an excellent student and participates in the academic enrichment program, chorus, and district band. He studies percussion in NYC with Eric Roberts and is an avid fan of pro wrestling and South Park.
Thomas Murphy, Vocals & Bass
Thomas can be heard singing on several lead vocals and harmonies with MOTP. He is 12 years old and a seventh grader at Hicksville Middle School, where he participates in orchestra (playing double bass), jazz band (on electric bass), and chorus. A top student, Thomas maintains a 95+ average and is a member of Junior Honor Society. He has been playing guitar and bass from a young age and has also studied piano and violin. Thomas’s musical influences include classic rock groups such as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and The Who as well as contemporary bands like My Chemical Romance. He is an avid reader and also enjoys pro wrestling, baseball, and video games. Anthony (Danny) Ayala, Vocals & Keyboards
Danny’s voice can be heard on several of MOTP’s driving lead vocals. He is a 12 year-old seventh grader at Hicksville Middle School. Danny has been studying piano privately for six years. He also plays violin in the middle school orchestra and is a member of the chorus. Though, like his bandmates, Danny appreciates classic rock & roll and present-day alternative rock bands such as My Chemical Romance and Muse, his musical tastes are broad and varied, encompassing more mainstream pop and hip-hop/R&B. Danny is an Honor roll student and a member of the volleyball team at school. He enjoys professional wrestling, video games, and outdoor sports in his spare time.
