Fletcher Barton

guitarist Fletcher Barton

Fletcher Barton BIO (for YAF – Sep 2010 Featured Artists of the Month)

Fletcher started playing guitar almost two and a half years ago at the age of 8 and he hasn’t looked back since. Working under the expert tutelage of Nick Ammons at the School of Rock, Fletcher has continuously had amazing opportunities to perform at local Cleveland venues including opening for Eddie Money at the House Of Blues with "The It" & playing live at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame & the Winchester Music Hall. From the start, Fletcher also began writing his own songs and performing at local open mics & charity events, as well as entering YouTube guitar competitions. In Feb. 2009 he began working weekly with local (& international) melodic guitar legend Neil Zaza, who has truly unleashed the inner Fletcher! He was invited by the Youth Arts Forum to play at the spring Kids Helping Kids Concert at the famed Webster Hall in NYC & is looking forward to playing at the upcoming Yaf Oct. 9th concert as well. His favorite thing to do is perform live for a crowd, whether on his own, with seasoned musicians, with the School of Rock, or with any of the other young bands he is a part of including "The It", "Death By Gluegun" & "FLAB". Through the exciting journey of these past 2+ years, Fletcher at his core remains a creative, humble and fun-loving 10 year old who just loves to make music. He is honored to be endorsed by D'Addario, Planet Waves & Jasperbridge and he is thrilled to have been chosen as the Youth Arts Forum artist of the month!

Fletcher alternates between a Cort NZS-2 & an Ibanez Steve Vai Jem Junior. He uses D’Addario XL Nickel Wound Strings (#10), Planet Waves Custom Pro Series Cables, Planet Waves Chromatic Pedal Tuner and Planet Waves Guitar Straps, Line 6 Amps, Tama Drum set, Samson Drum Mics, and AKAI MPK49 Midi Keyboard. He records on Ableton Live 7 using a Mackie ONYX 1620i Mixer.
